We know visiting any place for the first time can be a little stressful. On this page, you’ll find some information that will help make your first visit memorable and stress free. If you have any questions after reading this, don’t hesistate to email us by clicking here.

Where do i park?

Skycrest has two parking lots; a paved lot in front of our Education building, and a grass lot in front of our Sanctuary. There are also paved handicap parking spaces along Nimbus Ave. next to the Sanctuary. After you park, you can enter the Sanctuary through the doors near our garden area.

WhAT SHouLd I expect when I arrive?

Greeters will be stationed by the door to welcome you. There are paper bulletins as well as online bulletins available in the lobby. You can also drop a donation in the donation box if you wish, or give online! Feel free to let the greeters know if you have any questions, or need directions to the restrooms, nursery, etc. We give a $5 donation to Heifer International on behalf of any first-time visitors, so be sure to fill out a Connection card during the service!

What time is the service?

Our worship service begins at 10:00am. People will start arriving around 9:30am to talk and mingle, so feel free to arrive early if you would like to meet some of our friendly faces! The service lasts approximately 1 hour. After the service, all are welcome for refreshments and snacks across the street in our Education Building. Wheelchairs are available if needed. Then, groups (called “The Gathering” at Skycrest) begin at 11:15am.

WHAT is THE SERVICE LIKE?

The music features drums, bass, guitar, keys, choir, organ, and piano. There are typically a couple of modern songs as well as a few traditional hymns. Communion is practiced every Sunday, with the full liturgy used the first Sunday of the month and an abbreviated liturgy used subsequent Sundays. All are welcome to participate in communion - you do not need to be a member of our church, or any church. Gluten free bread is available. Our pastor speaks on Scripture and relevant topics and uses imagery to help convey the message.

What about groups?

Our Sunday morning groups are part of what we call “The Gathering.” This includes time for refreshments and snacks after the service in our Education Building, as well as groups that rotate on a 4 week basis. Refreshments begin immedetly following the service and groups begin at 11:15am. Although there is no expectation for anyone to stay for a group, we would love to have you, even if it is your first Sunday! Many of our groups do not rely on information discussed in previous group meetings. The view our current groups, click here.

What about my children?

Children at Skycrest are always welcome to worship with their families. On your way in you’ll find activity bags and quiet toys. We also have a Kids’ Moment during the service, in which your child will be invited on stage if they wish. If your kids would like to attend SkyKids, our children’s programming, it starts at 11:00am for age 4 through 5th grade, upstairs in the Education building. We follow a faith-based curriculum and kids will do lots of crafts, games, and drama! A parent or guardian must check-in and out their child with one of the Kids Ministry Leaders.

Our Nursery is also available on Sunday mornings, beginning at 9:30am and ending after The Gathering. There are screened Nursery staff and volunteers to care for our youngest guests. The Nursery is open to all newborns through 3 year olds. We ask that families provide diapers, wipes, bottles, or whatever supplies your child may need. Please check-in and out with our Nursery Leaders.

What about my youth?

The youth (6th-12th grade) participate in Worship with the rest of the congregation on Sunday mornings. Driven Student Ministries, our youth ministry, meets Sunday evenings from 5:00pm to 7:30pm for dinner, activities, and a lesson.

do i have to give money?

As a first-time guest, there is no expectation for you to give! For those who consider Skycrest their church home, we encourage giving toward our ministries, either online or at the donation boxes on their way in/out of worship. Feel free to participate as you wish, or consider giving online!
