What's Coming Up?
Confirmation Class Starting on January 11th
Calling all 6th graders and up. Our confirmation class begins Sunday, January 11th for a 9 week journey exploring the basics of faith and what it means to be a United Methodist. Please contact the office by January 6th to let us know if your child plans to participate.
Rev. Dr. Gary Mason, Founder of Rethinking Conflict .
Prior to founding Rethinking Conflict, Gary spent 28 years as a clergy person in Belfast and was involved in the “Northern Irish Peace Process.” He will talk to us about “Loving your enemies-what did Jesus really mean?” We’ll look at the whole concept of serving your neighbor. How do we interpret that in a divided society? Following service, Rev. Mason will lead a discussion in the Fellowship Hall entitled: “Listening to those with whom you disagree and the power of storytelling.” There will be no Gathering small groups on that day, except for Skykids.
Starting January 4th New Sermon Series - Awakened to Grace
We’ll begin the year by rediscovering the simple, transformative practices that open us to God’s presence - Prayer, Scripture, Silence, Fasting, Sabbath and Service. We’ll learn tools to help our community grow in faith together and awaken hearts to God’s grace made visible in ordinary life and discipleship.
Discussion Group - Will take a short pause until January 18th. Join us then for thoughtful discussion on contemporary topics. Together we will explore how these matters shape and challenge our Christian faith today. All are welcome. Meet in the library after Gathering time.
Foundry Study Group - Paused this week. Resuming Jan. 18th, studying “God is Closer Than You Think” by John Ortberg. You do not need a book to participate in the discussion, new participants always welcome. Please join us! Meet in Room 108 after the Gathering time.

Children/Youth Ministries
At Skycrest, we love kids, youth, and families of all kinds. We have Nursery during our worship services and events, SkyKids for ages 4 through 5th grade, and Youth Ministry for middle school and high school students. We also have a weekday preschool for ages 2 and up! Lastly, for young adults, we offer a young adults group for fellowship!
Serving
Serving others is at the heart of who we are as a church. You’ll find us globally on mission trips, locally feeding the hungry in our community and even serving within our own church. If you have a heart of service, Skycrest is your home!
Worship
Whether you prefer modern worship songs or traditional hymns, we have a service just for you. Our Combined Worship Service includes a modern band, choir, and organ.
