National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer celebration will be held at Spectrum Field (formerly Brighthouse Field) in Clearwater on Thursday, May 4th at 7pm. It will be an exciting night of worship and focused prayer for our community, state, nation and world. This is, perhaps, one of the strongest and largest expressions of unity in the Body of Christ in Pinellas County. Let's represent Skycrest UMC at this ecumenical event.

Vacation Bible School Registration

Children ages 3 through rising 5th grade are invited to join us on Monday July 17 - Friday July 21 from 9:00am - 12:00pm for Galactic Starveyors Vacation Bible School!  Together, we will explore space and learn more about the God of the universe!  Visit to learn more and get signed up!

Skycrest UMW Cookbooks On Sale Now

Don't miss this opportunity to purchase Breaking Bread, a cookbook filled with tasty recipes from the kitchens of our very own members. The spiral-bound book is just $15 and may be purchased in the church office.

Nursery Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to serve in our growing nursery ministry, alongside a trained staff member, on Sunday mornings. This provides better care for the children, and puts us in alignment with our Child-Youth Protection Policies. If you would be willing to help care for our church's youngest guests, please sign up on your blue connection card, or see Thelma Adair, our Nursery Team Leader.

Do You Sing or Play an Instrument?

If you enjoy singing or playing an instrument, we'd love for you to join us in the Choir or Praise Band.  The Modern Worship Band plays at the 9:45am service and practices for about an hour after that.  The Chancel Choir sings at the 11:00am service and practices on Wednesday nights.  We are also looking for volunteers to help run the sound system at the modern service.  Let us know on your blue card if you are interested and we will get you in touch with the right person.

Join our Email Lists: Mid-Week Message and Prayer Group

Would you like Skycrest updates delivered straight to your email inbox?   Click here to join our email lists.  The Mid-Week Message list will send you a weekly email (on Wednesdays) from our Pastor.

The Prayer Group email is sent 1-2 times weekly, and includes the prayer requests that have been submitted to the church that week; this is also a good way to stay informed about those who are sick or hospitalized from our congregation, so that you can pray, send cards, or visit.

Volunteer at Skycrest Child Development Center

We are always in need of volunteers to help with our preschool: playing with kids, assisting teachers, and tutoring students who need extra help.  One hour a week can make a huge difference!  Click here to get the volunteer information packet, and turn it in to the SCDC office.

Volunteer at Homeless Empowerment Program

HEP is always looking for volunteers to help serve meals, work in the office, tutor children, and more.  Several Skycrest members volunteer there regularly.  Contact Doug and Amy Bradley at from our Missions Committee, or contact HEP directly, for more information.

In the United Methodist Church, we baptize infants, children, and adults who have never been baptized before.  If you are interested in finding out more about baptism for yourself or a family member, please contact Pastor Emily
