Mission's Dinner

Our Mission's Committee is hosting our annual Mission's Dinner in support of our missionaries, Ron and Loretta Davidson.  The dinner will be held on Thursday, March 8th, at 6:00pm.  The Davidsons have been serving in Honduras since 2005, and their work there has made an amazing impact.  Honduras is the third poorest country in this hemisphere behind only Haiti and Nicaragua.  Two-thirds of Hondurans are living in poverty. Of that two-thirds, a large percentage are living in extreme poverty — that is, they live on a dollar to two dollars a day.  The Davidsons have helped to coordinate the delivery and distribution of food and supplies, and support of the 12 United Methodist congregations in the country.  

Tickets for the Missions dinner are $12.00 for adults, $5.00 for children 6-12, and children age 5 and under are free.  Come out and support the work of our missionaries!   

Ash Wednesday

Join us for our Ash Wednesday Service on February 22nd at 6:30pm in the sanctuary. Ash Wednesday is a time for reflection and preparation as we enter the season of Lent, where we are especially mindful of Jesus' sacrifice, and our need for repentance. We place ashes on our foreheads as a symbol of that repentance, and as a reminder of our mortality in this life.

skycrest kids paint day

Friday, Jan 20th, everyone and anyone is invited to help paint the large Kid's Room on the 2nd floor of the LEC building.  Show up anytime between 1-6pm - stay for 5 minutes or 5 hours.  Paint supplies will be in the room; you just need to pick up a brush and paint!

Youth Lock-In

Students have January 20th (Friday) off from school!  We will meet at the church at 7:00p.m. on Friday.  Our focus for the evening will be on prayer.  We will also have food, games, craziness, and lots of fun.  Bring a friend! Pick-up will be Saturday at 9:00 a.m.  Details and permission slips are available online.

Potluck Dinner for our Honduras Missionaries

Join us for a potluck dinner Saturday, November 12th at 6p in the Fellowship Hall.  No reservations are needed - just bring a dish to share.  We'll get to hear all about how the Davidson's are doing Christ's work in Honduras!

Parent’s Night Out!

December 2, 6-9pm

Here’s a great chance for the adults to have a night out!  Drop off your kids at 6:00pm on Friday, December 2^nd at Skycrest UMC and enjoy a few child-free hours.

            We are accepting kids birth-through-5^th grade.  There will be games, crafts, a clown, and dinner will be provided!

            There is a cost of $5 per child, $10 maximum per family (so, 3 kids from one family is $10) and you must register ahead of time!

Fall Family Picnic

Saturday, October 8 at Eagle Lake Park, 11:00am-2:00pm

Skycrest is having another family picnic!  Join us under a pavilion at Eagle Lake Park (signs will point you to the right one).  Bring your lunches and the church will provide the drinks.  There will be football, frisbee, ladder golf, corn-hole and many more games and activities!

Rock-the-Universe

Rock The Universe (RTU) at Universal Studios Orlando is the weekend of September 10th.

RTU is a weekend of Christian concerts and theme park fun, and another opportunity for the youth to get to know one another and worship God through music. Skycrest will be attending on Saturday night and having a sleepover at church (that’s right parents – ALL NIGHT – go out on a date!) and then worshiping together on Sunday morning at the 9:45 a.m. service. Cost is $50 plus dinner and snacks at the park. Permission slips and money are due by August 31st. See Becky Rokitowski for additional paperwork or if you have any questions.
