Discipleship - a disciple of
Christ, is someone who follows Jesus. Looking in the scriptures, we
find that Jesus called His disciples, taught His disicples and nurtured
His disciples - caring for them as a shepherd tends his flock. Then, He
gave His disciples commands to incease His teachings throughout the
world.
Love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, strength and mind.
Love one another.
Go into all the world and tell everyone of the good news that -
"...God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that who ever
believed in Him would have everlasting life. For God didn't send His
Son into the world to condemn the world - but that the world, through
Him, would be saved.

A recent study on discipleship found us
groupong the needs of the people into three groups: Education, Nurture
and Outreach . SO from one committee we formed three, with Education
using the name "Discipleship."
As obedient
followers, Skycrest provides ways for each of us to participate as we
are able in the ministries of Jesus Christ. We offer:
Christ teachings through the sermons, music, Bible studies, Sunday
School classes for all ages, small groups, guest speakers and special
events through out the year. The focus of this Discipleship Committee
is on the education of the people who are drawn to skycrest.
NURTURE
A special committee provides care and support of our members who need
special assistance. This committee also assists the church with
projects that concern the smooth running of the membership.
Outreach
This committee provides ways to reach out into the
community offering Christian fellowship and opportunities to learn
about and make a commitment to Christ.
